You must be at least 18 years old to use BookMonty. By using this platform, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to agree to these terms.
3. Service Description
BookMonty provides a platform for authors to receive authentic and honest book reviews from real readers. We do not guarantee the quality, quantity, or timing of reviews and all users are responsible for adhering to ethical reviewing practices.
Anonymous Review Policy. BookMonty ensures that authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. Authors DO NOT know who reviews/reviewed their book.
NOT Review Swapping. BookMonty ensures a strict separation between authors and reviewers.
- No Direct Exchanges. If Reviewer A reads and reviews Author B's book, Reviewer A will never be shown books by Author B. This prevents any expectation of reciprocity or biased reviewing.
- Completely Independent Review Process. Reviews are assigned based on an anonymous, randomized system, ensuring that every book is reviewed objectively by independent readers.
Zero Review Manipulation Policy. At BookMonty, we do not allow any form of review manipulation and strictly enforce guidelines to ensure all reviews remain genuine, honest, and unbiased.
- Honest & Unbiased Reviews. BookMonty does not attempt to manipulate reviews in any way. Reviewers are encouraged to share their true opinions, whether positive, neutral, or negative.
- NO to Malicious Reviews. If we detect reviews that are intentionally misleading, malicious, or posted with the sole purpose of harming an author's reputation, we will take immediate action. This includes suspending or banning the reviewer from our platform, with no entitlement to refunds.
- Strict Anti-Abuse Measures.
- We actively monitor for patterns of unfairly low ratings, spammy reviews, or coordinated attacks.
- If an author believes they have received a malicious review, they can report it for investigation to us via our Red Flag feature.
- Repeated violations by a reviewer will result in account termination, with no entitlement to refunds.
By using BookMonty, you agree to uphold these ethical standards, ensuring a trustworthy environment for both authors and readers.
